Reflect or Absorb: an Important Distinction

The Light needs you as a reflecting point, and you need the light in order to reflect.

Meditation Thought: ” ‘…I have built …by my mighty power …for the glory of my majesty’ …Even as the words were on the King’s lips, a voice came from heaven, ‘This is what is decreed for you, King Nebuchadnezzar: Your royal authority has been taken from you …until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes.'” (Daniel 4:32-32)

There is no firm foundation save the foundation of God who is Love: Creative Love. Trust nothing but God – but God is everywhere. Therefore when you are seeking God that you may find Him whom you can trust, you have but a short search. Your search is only the distance from your mind to your faith: from the desire to act upon God’s will, to the trust that you are acting upon God’s will, to the knowledge that you are acting upon God’s will.

Cannot He who created all re-create all? He who sought to create in love – and respect for individuality – remains lovingly re-creative in response to that individuality seeking to become a lovelier expression of Himself.

It is for this reason that neither Nebuchadnezzar, nor you could seek to create glory for yourselves: you cannot create light but you can reflect light, via your choice of expression of yourself as a reflector of light. You can reflect much light or reflect very little light.

The more of anything you attempt to absorb for yourself, the less of that remains on your surface to be reflected to be of aid to those who look to you – you were created to reflect the light of your Father, not to be a generator of light. If you, by your very ignorance, attempt to distort yourself so as to generate instead of reflect, you lose your ability to be what you ought to be in the process of attempting to be what you will never be able to become.

Imitate your Father by observing Him. You see Him everywhere: in all that is love, peace, harmony, forgiveness, beauty, righteousness, sacrificing, joyful. If you turn your eye toward the Light, then you shall be able to allow the Light to shine forth as reflected from your eyes: those who look at you see the Light and the reflected light reveals to them the path which they had not found without the additional light.

This is why you cannot simply absorb the Light. You must be a good reflector of the Light in order to by fully appreciative of it. The Light needs you as a reflecting point, and you need the light in order to reflect.

A Climate of Faith

What is the element of life that is most exciting? Anticipation. It is satisfying to enjoy this moment – but it is exciting to create in the future the reality from the thought that is created this day.

Meditation Thought: “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)

“You have been given a ‘measure of faith’. Do you know its purpose? It is for using to grow more faith. It is for planting, for nourishing, for expecting a bountiful harvest of faith forthcoming.

Faith does not grow when it is ignored. Faith grows by someone tending it, recognizing that it exists and seeking to make it grow.

What is the element of life that is most exciting? Anticipation. It is satisfying to enjoy this moment – but it is exciting to create in the future the reality from the thought that is created this day.

You are able to exist in two planes at the same time, enjoying both and creating in both because you are both spirit and body. Your most effective powerful creations are the result of integrating the two areas into a two-dimensional expression on your part (height and width) and the addition of depth by the infusion of My Truth.

If you will work to define the pattern on the surface, I shall add the substance behind it to create a work beautiful from every viewpoint. Use the principles of good form taught to you in the Word, demonstrated by Jesus, whispered to you by the Spirit as well as confirmed by circumstances.

Think in terms of your work appearing as a figure in a painting, but with my divine power recreating it in sculpture which is a more complete expression that can be appreciated from any angle. Your work remains an expression of yourself, as only you can create, but it is made more beautiful by My expression added to it.

Your faith is the knowledge that the tiny seed of creative thought in your mind will grow even more beautiful and effective as you work to bring it into fruition. If you want to live the life of a creative artist, you must be saturated in faith. Nurture it, grow it, so you can thrive in the climate of faith.

Expand your faith that the work that you seek to product is unique – and useful and desirable – and that together we shall make it become complete and ‘real’; visible to many, and helpful to all who observe it.”

How to Choose When Choosing is Difficult

The knowledge that great abilities lie within you is a force that can release these to benefit many, including yourself. Go on a ‘treasure hunt’ seeking to find all of these traits and to use them for great good.

Meditation Thought: “…return to the Lord your God and obey him with all your heart and with all your soul according to everything I command you today then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes and have compassion on you…” (Deuteronomy 30:2,3)

“Like begets like” and if you are seeking to be like God as you express your character and your personality, you will draw God closer to you. He is your Father, but you can choose to be close to Him, to listen to Him and to obey Him, or you can go away, ignore Him and defy Him.

You know which way it best for you. You know it is the best way for all. You can choose for yourself; you cannot choose for all. But, in choosing for yourself, you affect others’ decisions – perhaps more than you know.

When choices are difficult – call upon the Power within you – the genetic inheritance of God the Father living within the spirit of His child. If you know you come from ‘good stock’ it gives you confidence in your genetic inheritance. What better ‘stock’ is possible than Creator of the universe?

When you seek to live in ways that reflect the glorious inheritance you ‘upgrade’ your own life and all who know you. Some may perceive that it is your inheritance that sparks your desirable qualities – and seek to know of their own inheritance, thus learning of their relationship to you as well as of their Father. Others may be unable to understand fully the motivations of your thoughts, your words, your deeds. But, nevertheless, they are affected by them. You are continuously tilling fields of others’ lives, either enabling them to produce good crops, or inhibiting their production, depending upon your expertise, your energy, and your attention.

Your expertise is developed in the Word, your energy is engendered by the Spirit, and your attention is prompted by Christ’s example and the results He deomonstrated.

Seek to express yourself as representative of your inheritance from the Father, not with pride in yourself, but with pride in Him, pride in being connected with Him. All can have this pride if they will.

A Pattern Uniquely for YOU

Let your Father show you how to weave a glorious pattern to give delight, to enhance the place he prepares for you in His Kingdom in heaven.

Meditation Thought: “Now I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because your grief led to repentance” (2 Corinthians 7:9)

  • Dormant : Live
  • Passive : Active
  • Proud : Humble
  • In-Self : In-God
  • In Weakness : In Power
  • Ineffective : Dynamic
  • Hate : Love
  • Sinful : Righteous

We choose with each breath we take. The pattern you follow will repeat: if you take care in making the pattern even and straight and whole, it will repeat itself with these desirable characteristics – but if you make it uneven by relying on your emotions, crooked by relying on your will, incomplete by the gnawing at it by sin – then the whole ‘run’ of your life will be suitable not for the grand living room in your Father’s house, but to be hidden away in a far, dark corner room.

Let your Father show you how to weave a glorious pattern to give delight, to enhance the place he prepares for you in His Kingdom in heaven. You must remember that you can see only the limited dwelling places of the world and patterns you would make for those alone would look out of place in the mansion in heaven. You need to trust your father as to the design that will be needed for eternity even though it may look out of place in the earthly realm.

Jump-Start

If we go about allowing God to guide us in releasing His power to charge each other, we become a community of highly-charged vehicles of God moving on earth, bringing His blessings from heaven.

Meditation Thought: “He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.” (Isaiah 40:29)

When sin and sorrow have brought about a spirit which has lost power – a “dead battery” spirit – the love of the Father, the sacrifice of the Son, the power of the Holy Spirit are the “jumper cables” to bring new life – but they must be attached to the dead battery spirit: who will bring the power? Someone who believes the jumper cables will revive the battery. it could be anyone – a most unlikely one. We must constantly look to the spirits of those we meet to determine if they need “re-charging” to be powerful once again. If we go about allowing God to guide us in releasing His power to charge each other, we become a community of highly-charged vehicles of God moving on earth, bringing His blessings from heaven.

Eradicate Pollution

Christ is the hand of the Father touching you – protecting, guiding, lovingly caressing you, reassuring you, bringing the peace of rightness with your Father into your life.

Meditation Thought: “But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.” (2 Corinthians 2:14)

The flowers shall bloom and their perfume fill the air: and the sense of smell shall affect the other senses through the emotion evoked. The beauty of heaven shall be revealed in this tiny, subtle way. The fragrance of the knowledge of God as revealed in Christ as head and believers as body shall envelop and evoke response.

But you must take the necessary actions to keep Christ active within you that the fragrance may be released through you: Strengthen your will by obeying in trust – turn to the weapons available to fight off wrong desires, inertia, selfish pursuits – turn to the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit (see Ephesians 6:13-18).

Remember to prepare to meet the challenge of those who would stifle the fragrance, would pollute it, would mask it so that they could deceive and divide and alienate God’s people from Himself. Make way – make way for the Lord – this is your duty and your joy, your task and your peace; nothing, nothing, shall separate you from the love of God as Christ is the hand of the Father touching you – protecting, guiding, lovingly caressing you, reassuring you, bringing the peace of rightness with your Father into your life.

New Delights

Only by the yielding to the Spirit will God’s gifts be the instruments of change.

Meditation Thought: “ Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.” (1 Corinthians 12:7)

As each member of the body performs its special function, so each person in the Body performs their function – to perform at maximum perfection, the Holy Spirit must be allowed to permeate the member, activating God’s gifts sent by grace, chosen by Him, perfected for each incident, each instant.

Only by the yielding to the Spirit will God’s gifts be the instruments of change:
Healing the sick,
Encouraging the downhearted,
Bringing sinners to knowledge and repentance, forgiveness and health,
Releasing imprisoned minds and imprisoned bodies,
Converting love of self to love of God and fellow creatures,
Energizing the sluggish and immoveable,
Teaching new concepts, new methods, new delights –
Revealing more clearly the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory.

Sand Art of Time

I desire to love you and care for you – allow Me this pleasure.

Meditation Thought: “whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)

“Picture yourself choosing various objects laid out before you to drop into a transparent cylinder of time: the overall pattern is determined by the objects you choose. If you listen to Me, I will enable you to choose objects which will produce a pattern of glowing loveliness and beauty, a column of time giving pleasure to the world and to the Kingdom.

If you choose to ignore My wisdom and knowledge of the whole in selecting the objects, the column of time will be clouded and dark and jumbled, making no pattern of loveliness. Do not become so preoccupied with the necessity of selecting that you forget to consult Me. Walk in the Way, the Word, the Spirit to discover My selections for your ideal pattern. Trust Me – knowing that as the infant, you cannot function properly without the care of your Father. I desire to love you and care for you – allow Me this pleasure.”

Remodel Without a HELOC

We must pry open the door of our free will to allow Him to enter.

Meditation Thought: “for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.” (1 Corinthians 8:6)

Just as we are born of our parents and receive all things from them, so we are born of God and of Jesus and receive all things through them. We exist for them to love – and so that we might love them. Love is the key to life: without love there may be existence but not fullness.

But how do we know love? We know love by allowing God into our heart: He seeks, by His love and grace to enter us, and we must pry open the door of our free will to allow Him to enter. What glorious change in our heart when His loving Presence moves into it, bringing light and warmth, wisdom and understanding, knowledge and forgiveness. What a transformation remodeling and redecorating takes place! We are so changed that nothing appears as before, but is enhanced, enriched and increased in value according to the Kingdom’s value system – beyond recognition as the old self-will and worldly sin heart.

Body of Membership

Christ right here!

Meditation Thought: “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ?” (1 Corinthians 6:15)

Christ is in each cell! Christ, My Lord, right here; we are one. With the yielding of my will to His will, my body is transformed into Christ living in the world today.

How can I treat His body with anything but care and love?
Would I flail Him (abuse Him mentally)?
Would I deny Him the nourishment He needs?
Would I deny Him the movement He needs for health when He is confined in a body?

I must treat Christ within me (my body) as I would treat a member of my family – providing all that is needed for His perfect health and welfare.
