Hearing Aid

We need to be expecting to hear God at any moment – at every moment.

Meditation Thought: “The voice of the Lord is powerful, the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.” (Psalm 29:4)

Some kinds of waves can penetrate some materials, but not others – there are sound waves, light waves, infrared rays, etc. – but the only ‘wave’ that can penetrate any place at any time is God’s voice: of instruction, of help, of hope, of love, of power.

When we are expecting to hear a voice, we are more likely to hear it when it comes. We need to be expecting to hear God at any moment – at every moment. Then the “still, small voice” is amplified so that it becomes clear and incisive and penetrating, enabling us to know that God’s will is for us at that moment.

Big Brother

…my big brother Jesus would know what to do in this situation. Let me check with Him and I know then I’ll be taking the right action.

Meditation Thought: “For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother, and sister and mother.” (Matthew 12:50)

“I’m a relative of Jesus” – what a statement to be able to make! Of all the name-dropping, that has to be the ultimate statement. And, yet it is true – as we, through faith in Jesus as Savior, accept our Father as our guide, our Creator, our loving, indulgent parent, and we obey Him as such, we are born into His Kingdom and His family just as surely as we are physically born into this world. And His Son is surely part of His family!

Maybe we should think more in terms of making decisions, going through a process such as saying to ourselves: “Well, now, my big brother Jesus would know what to do in this situation. Let me check with Him and I know then I’ll be taking the right action.”

The heavens rejoice at the expansion and maturing of the family of God. It is enough to know that this is so; we do not need to know why it is so. We rejoice because our Father rejoices as He delights in our obedience. Our delight and joy become contagious to one another; we want to continue this happy time, this happy relationship. There is only one way to do  it – we must do as our Father requests – in a manner of trust, pleasure, reliance and eagerness, as well as performing as competently as we are able.

A Hospitable House

It’s a bit scary to think that we are housing the Creator of the universe! If we ponder that for a while we will certainly need to keep our house clean and pure and hospitable!

Meditation Thought: “But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house…” (Hebrews 3:6a)

If we are “God’s house” then God resides in us! It’s a bit scary to think that we are housing the Creator of the universe! If we ponder that for a while we will certainly need to keep our house clean and pure and hospitable!

How can we make a house that welcomes God and pleases Him? Surely we must seek His Word and His counsel through prayer.

Believing is Seeing

When it becomes a reality, it is My Kingdom on earth .

Meditation Thought: “Whoever… does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.” (Mark 11:23)

“Seeing is believing – but believing is also seeing. Keep this phrase in mind as we work together. You need a positive, trusting attitude to complete your work to My satisfaction. This is not natural for you – but it is natural for Me and therefore, you must adapt, and adopt it as your own.

Concentrate on seeing in your mind what I want you to accomplish as a completed task. The vision is only a dream until it becomes a reality; when it becomes a reality, it is My Kingdom on earth – My promise fulfilled and fulfilling – mercy, resurrection, triumphant order of life as experienced by the Body of believers. The life encompasses many experiences but all are only different expressions of the one theme.

Once you accept this, it easier to understand your journey and the understanding produces an accepting heart. The accepting heart throbs with the joy of knowing the outcome will be triumphant which raises the energy level to new heights, bringing the triumph all the sooner.

Will you choose this way? If so, you must commit yourself completely, enthusiastically, happily and whole-heartedly.

Voice in the Din

There is so much joy and peace and pleasure and excitement and fulfillment to be distributed.

Meditation Thought: “What I tell you in the dark, utter in the light; and what you hear whispered, proclaim upon the housetops.” (Matthew 10:27)

“I would whisper to all if they could but hear me above the din of the world – but all cannot hear, for they do not yet know to listen for a voice apart from the din. I need you to work within the din, to get attention so that you can then attune others’ ears to my voice.

Be sure you listen carefully to My voice, heeding my instructions, before you call attention to yourself, that you might be using the most effective manner of both getting attention and then re-focusing that attention to Me. There is so much joy and peace and pleasure and excitement and fulfillment to be distributed – I want to blanket the world with it, but I cannot force it, or the pressure will smother instead of provide comfort.

People must reach out for the “comforter” – My Kingdom – but you can call their attention to the gift being available for their asking. Start to automatically work in each relationship, no matter how casual the encounter, to fulfill that aim. Relax, smile, enjoy the gift that you posses, and I will guide you each moment to speak and act appropriately to the heart of everyone you meet.”

Harvest Time

First the giving, then the receiving.

Meditation Thought: “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray, therefore, the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38)

The harvest is not usable until it is gathered – it has been long in reaching the harvesting state – but all the time and effort is wasted if it is left in the field to rot. There must be laborers to go at the proper time to bring it into the storehouses. The laborers must be knowledgeable, willing and strong to complete their task – they must give much of themselves before they can enjoy the fruits of the harvest. First the giving, then the receiving.

Flying Lessons

Do you know that I created you to love you, to interact with you, to have adventures with you?

“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, the will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:30-31)

I am here. Do you believe Me? Do you realize that you could not exist if I had not created you? Do you know that I created you to love you, to interact with you, to have adventures with you? You do? Then base your thoughts and your actions on these promises. This is the key to the kingdom.”

Construction on the Base of Mercy

Do not look back to the old; that is now buried.

Meditation Thought: “For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand saying to you, ‘fear not, I will help you.'” (Isaiah 41:13)

“We will take all the trash which has accumulated in your life and I will bury it with my mercy so deeply that it will not surface to ruin the shining new life to be built on top of my base of mercy. Do not look back to the old; that is now buried. Take the new materials of construction which I hand you: they are far more beautiful than the materials you were using before.

You will need to work hard to learn to use new tools and new materials – but what a beautiful, glorious edifice is built when you come to me for tools and materials. It is so lovely, so appealing, that none can resist wanting one as lovely – and when you are asked how to build such an edifice, you can lead them to Me that I can give tools and materials to them also. And so, a community of lovely edifices is built – one enhancing the other, all to My glory and My pleasure – all to the peace and pleasure of the builders.

Dream, work, and enjoy – think of these separate activities as cogs in the whole, content at the movement of the moment yet award that there will be other moments, other pleasures – but all pleasing to Me and to you.”

A Magnified Gift

Why wouldn’t it be logical for God to want to give more gifts to those who are using them to their maximum instead of just storing them away?

Meditation Thought: “I tell you to every one who has will more be given; but from him who has not even what he has will be taken away.” Luke 19:26

God gives us precious gifts but not for the purpose of hiding them, hoarding them for our own selfish pleasure, to be sneaked out in secret and gloated over. He gives us gifts to enjoy by sharing them with others – which magnifies them as their value is spread to more people.

Why wouldn’t it be logical for God to want to give more gifts to those who are using them to their maximum instead of just storing them away? When we give a gift to someone, don’t we receive pleasure when the person uses it, shares the benefit from it – and aren’t we disappointed if the gift is put away and ignored? God’s gifts are too precious to be accepted and put on a shelf never to be used. They should be used constantly to His pleasure and glory, as well as our pleasure.

Expeditions

Look up to Me when you stagger and fall – don’t look to the ground where you lie – but up to Me to catch My extended hand so that I can raise you up and encourage you along.

Meditation Thought: “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. (Matthew 5:6)

“The thirst has been created in you, that you might have the desire, the stamina to search for the water to quench it. And as the “Living Water” refreshes you, satisfies you, your delight will want to be expressed in helping others to recognize their thirst, and then to lead them to the place where they can quench that thirst.

Continue your expedition – in spite of all obstacles – for the goal is worth all costs. I will be your Guide, My strength will uphold you when you ask for my help – look up to Me when you stagger and fall – don’t look to the ground where you lie – but up to Me to catch My extended hand so that I can raise you up and encourage you along. The further you travel, the more you learn, and the more adept you become at traveling – I will show you the way, and I will also show the way to those companions you pick up along the highway. Come, let us satisfy your thirst.”
