This Moment

The moments are linked together in an unbroken chain. When one is moved it tends to pull the other moments in the same direction.

Meditation Thought: “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” (Psalm 24:1)

“I am the Lord of all and none can escape me. Trust that total care is My will and My way. You do not see anything but what I would have you see: therefore treat what you do see as crucial, as My focusing you upon it for My purposes. This moment is all that exists for you to understand and do; feel confident that it is the most critical moment of your life – and treat it accordingly. The moments – the impact of what the moments contain – are linked together in an unbroken chain. When one is moved – whether toward Me or away from Me – it tends to pull the other moments in the same direction. That is why each moment’s action is more important than you realize. You need to keep the chain building and moving in My direction. I am using that chain in ways you cannot see to fulfill My plans for the world. Do not let Me down, but build Me up – for every loving thought or action, every word of praise, every hope in faith, every prayer expressed, enhances My glory and expands My Kingdom.”

Stranger or Friend

What joy to know that we do not need to struggle and flounder, but only need to heed His voice and follow Him to find our place, our joy, our needs supplied.

Meditation Thought: “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27)

We do not recognize a stranger’s voice: we must come to know Jesus before we can know His voice, and follow it to all the good pastures where He wants to lead us. He knows us, too, and wants us with Him. ‘Come’ – Jesus says this word so often. If He is our Shepherd, then we will come, for we know He cares for us, seeks out whatever is for our good. What joy to know that we do not need to struggle and flounder, but only need to heed His voice and follow Him to find our place, our joy, our needs supplied.

Original Condition

A little selfishness in one area attracts selfishness in another area – a generous thought and action attracts another generous thought and action.

Meditation Thought:  “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” (Luke 16:10)

Everything has its own nature, its own qualities that make it unique. The total of these qualities is a reflection of the individual parts, which, though different, do fit in with each other in a compatible way – there are qualities that are desirable and qualities that are undesirable. Like attracts like in the makeup of our natures; a little selfishness in one area attracts selfishness in another area – a generous thought and action attracts another generous thought and action so that, no matter whether the incident is minor or crucial, our sum of our parts, whether they be desirable or undesirable, determines our actions.

As we become aware of the nature of our parts, if some parts are not consistent with what God created in us (before our sin), then we can work at yielding and changing those parts back into original condition, so that the total of our parts will add up to God-inspired thoughts and actions in every situation, no matter how major or minor it might be. And therein lies the goal for all creation – to have our nature purified back to original God-creations and the full relationship with Him which was Him intention as He created us.

A New Dimension to Life

That Power, and that Love are able to penetrate into us enough to change our lives, to enable us to see where we were blind, to hear where we were deaf, to feel where we were numb, to act when we were paralyzed.

Meditation Thought: “…and stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their district. 51 But they shook off the dust from their feet against them, and went to Ico′nium. 52 And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 13:50-52)

“Filled with joy, and the Holy Spirit” – joy and the Holy Spirit go together, the Holy Spirit inspired joy is like no other: it is more exhilarating, it is more exciting, it is more surprising – because it does not depend upon events or emotions, but is a gift from God, given at any time, at any place, in any circumstances. And when it is given in the most unlikely circumstances, it is almost unbearably exquisite because we know that it has a dimension, a grandeur, a heavenly aura that comes through no other joy.

When we have experienced the Heavenly, Holy Spirit joy, that gift changes our lives from that moment on:  we know God in a way that is so real that it changes all our previous conceptions of life and of faith. We have a new dimension in our life that enhances it in every area, for the reality of God’s power to bring us joy wherever we are, whatever is happening to us, gives us a confidence in Him that enables us to believe to the point of knowing God is love, God is working everything to our good, God is who He says He is, does what He says he does – and that Power and Love are so great as to be incomprehensible to us – and yet, that Power, and that Love are able to penetrate into us enough to change our lives, to enable us to see where we were blind, to hear where we were deaf, to feel where we were numb, to act when we were paralyzed.

We do see only dimly now – but we did not see you at all before, and how exciting to come from no site to any site:  a miracle, a revelation, a joy we cannot contain. We shout in our excitement, wanting others to know we have made a discovery! Some who have already found sight will understand and rejoice with us, some will understand what we have discovered is something that they would seek to0 – and others will claim we are deluded, that since they cannot see, that there is no such thing as sight.

Suggested Prayer: Lord, I want to exercise my eyes, to strengthen the muscles that I may see You and Truth more clearly, that I may move into the knowledge of facets of your kingdom within and also the facets disguised by the paint the world has smeared over them. Help me to chip away the paint to reveal the beauty of your kingdom underneath, the genuine surface.  And as I rejoice at the new beauty revealed, enable me to share it with others, that many may come to see You as the Creator of beauty, and worship You as the Supreme Artist of all of creation. Help us to find your masterpieces, wherever they are hidden, and to appreciate them, and to share them. The pursuit of them makes all  hindrances as nothing: our goal is sure, our purpose is determined, our excitement unflagging! Lord, help your people to be more purposeful, more dedicated to revealing you masterpieces to inspire, and to guide us to the lives that you would have us lead. In Jesus name I pray. May I make more room in my heart, and in my life for the full working of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

More Than You Think You Can

When you put Me first, the door is unlocked to the Kingdom, and the Kingdom contains everything you need for every situation.

Meditation Thought: “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord” (Acts 3:19)

“Look at the ‘big picture’ to keep from being mired down in petty details. Take bold steps to reach your goal, and, trusting My power will be your booster, move as much as you can – more than you think you can. Your movement activates My movement, and then real changes take place. We change whole landscapes, not little details here and there.

You know where the key is: use it. When you put Me first, the door is unlocked to the Kingdom, and the Kingdom contains everything you need for every situation; you merely choose whatever you need by reaching for it. But you must use your knowledge of how to put Me first and how to reach for what you need (in the Kingdom), or you are still turned backwards toward the world and are frustrated and ineffective.”

Where to Run for Safety

Only when we direct our mind, our heart, our body, away from the tower are we subject to the fears, the dangers, the panic and the uncertainties of this world.

Meditation Thought: “The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” (Proverbs 18:10)

The tower stays put. Only by choosing to go so far from it that we forget about it can we really get into danger. Only when we direct our mind, our heart, our body, away from the tower are we subject to the fears, the dangers, the panic and the uncertainties that the worldly experience. When we keep ourselves in the protection and the guidance of the tower, by keeping within its sight, we can move freely, joyfully, confidently – no matter what situation might be involved. But the door of the tower opens only to those who can find it: and to find it we must be able to see it. To see it, we must have the Light reveal it to us, we must allow the Light (Jesus) to shine by allowing (asking) Him to remove our covering of sin, of unbelief, of disobedience.

Tribulation to Jubilation

I have the power, the desire and the knowledge to do this – but you must invite me to come with you.

Meditation Thought: ” In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

“If you will allow me to join you in your tribulation, I will transform it into jubilation. I have the power, the desire and the knowledge to do this – but you must invite me to come with you, and you must trust and obey Me in order to make this transformation.

Look at each tribulation as an opportunity for growth of our relationship, for growth of power in your life, for growth of a dynamic, fulfilled life. As your perception changes from negative to positive, so as a photograph changes from the negative, which is a confusing and unclear and not a proper reflection, into the positive picture, your tribulation will change into a clear reflection of My will – and My will is always for good for you. The negative must be made first, however, before the positive print can be made from it, for sin has prevented the making of a direct positive reflection of My will. At first you will see only dim outlines, but as we work together, the picture will become clearer, and finally the lovely print titled “Jubilation” will emerge.”

A Superior Toolbox

The more words of God we know, the more we learn of God.

Meditation Thought: “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)

Even human words have great effect. The course of history can be changed by only a word: ‘love’ or ‘hate’; ‘go’ or ‘come’. But God’s words have power far beyond human power and we do well to stand in awe of them and to heed them.

The more words of God we know, the more we learn of God – and the more we know of God, the more we know of everything. As we come to know God, we come to realize that He can be trusted: that when He allows something into our lives, it is for a purpose. We don’t always look at it as an opportunity, however, and therefore it becomes a burden rather than the blessing that was available if we had been the proper catalyst to change it into one.

When we are causing action, if it is God’s energy and direction working through us, that action is going to rearrange the situation into good. We need to look carefully to be sure that we reach for the tools that God is handing down, and do not use tools coming from another source.

We know God’s tools are consistent with scripture, and consistent with the personality of Jesus, and will be visible in prayer. They may be in any shape or in any form, but handed to us in love, in gentleness and not forced – for God wants us to use His tools, but He also wants us to want to use them. And when we do – wow – they are so superior to other tools we have used that we become eager to continue to use them. If we choose carefully and alertly, we will be able to discern which tools are truly God’s tools.

The Golden Rule Demonstrated

A bit of envy is exchanged for a bit of understanding, a bit of selfishness is exchanged for a bit of outreach, a bit of hate for…

Meditation Thought: “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” (Luke 6:31)

If you are, through Christ, doing good to everyone in your life, you are a tree producing good fruit. Subtly, little by little:
a bit of envy is exchanged for a bit of understanding,
a bit of selfishness is exchanged for a bit of outreach,
a bit of hate for a bit of love,
a bit of despair for a bit of hope,
a bit of judgment for a bit of forgiveness,
a bit of rebellion for a bit of righteousness,
a bit of ignorance for the revelation of Truth.

The miracle is that, through Christ, the exchange for the more desirable condition takes place simultaneously in you and in the person upon whom your attitude, concentration and resources are working.

Christ said “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” – but He said it only after He had become an example, only after He had embraced this concept to the point of sacrificing himself to the total commitment of His life to this principle.

Jolted

We do not understand His willingness to forgive and His desire to express mercy.

Meditation Thought: “and wen he saw their faith, he said, ‘Friend, your sins are forgiven you’ …and he rose… and went home glorifying God.” (Luke 5:20,25)

Believe – demonstrate your belief – and He whose word is true cannot deny or resist you, for He is true to His promises and true in His love.

We miss out on much healing and many blessings due to our inability to truly comprehend the depth of God’s love and the power of His Word and His Spirit. We do not understand His willingness to forgive and His desire to express mercy.

We make the mistake of attributing to God our own thoughts and feelings and manner of behavior.

Instead of seeking to become totally familiar with all that God is and patterning ourselves according to what we find, we lazily presume that the way we are must be an approximation of the way He is.

Only when we are jolted out of our long-held misconceptions can we have the revelation of the possibilities of a miracle taking place. Only when we believe enough in the possibility do we decide to seek to bring it about by requesting it in so much faith that it will take place that our Lord is so delighted with our confidence in His ability and desire to perform the miracle, can He match up our faith and His power to grant the request.
