Meditation Thought: “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” ( Psalm 37:4)

“Delight yourself in the Lord” – the delight is here, whether the desires of the heart are here or in the future. This is the key to the Kingdom: delight available 24 hours a day, for the delight is in the Lord, who is a ’24-hour a day Lord’, always available, always willing, always eager to guide, to bless, to work good. Choose the delight in the Lord in your life. The desires of your heart are a result of the delight – not the delight a result of fulfilled desires. Just as a stone may be enhanced by its setting, so your delight may be enhanced by fulfilled desires, but keep each in perspective and do not confuse them.

‘Delightful attitude’ will win over the factors needed to produce the desires of your heart. Not everyone has the temperament to do this humorously – but everyone has the power of being able to do it in the Spirit. Get enthused about the Lord, and doing His works, and your enthusiasm will be so contagious that all will be eager to give you the desires of your heart – because those desires are the desires of the Father whose will is to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
